That’s an easy and cheap response. Totally untrue. If you look at the prospect and cross area there is a massive, massive cell phone tower with antennas for all three networks on there. T-Mobile and AT&t work great and Verizon service is horrendous! So I know she is trying to pass the buck and blame the people of Lakewood for their own issues but she is 100% wrong.
It’s very true. There is strong opposition any time they want to put up a tower. They were sued and had to cancel projects. What can we expect.
If I remember correctly, it was only once (it was debated back and forth so that’s probably what you’re remembering) and it was in a residential area where there were senior citizens. Of course you’ll get opposition in such an area! Most cell phone towers are NOT in residential areas and rightfully so.
Check the story on this site at lengthy-battle-between-lakewood-residents-and-major-wireless-carrier-ends-with-dismantling-of-cell-tower
Att is a disaster in Lakewood and Jackson and has gotten much worse over the past year or 2 maybe we can take a poll for carrier reception
I switched from Verizon to AT&T and service is much better! I have yet to find a spot where I don’t have reception
Whitesville Rd area from 70 to 571 and Pine Lake Park is a dead zone for AT&T.
ATT is horrible in Pine Lake Park and in the whitesville area in Toms River.
So you’re saying that the people who fought against the cell towers are complaining about bad cell service? 🤯
No.
Some people are against it and some aren’t.
Stop trying to undermine people.
some know how bad radiation is, others don’t
No it’s the anti vaxxer type of idiots against the rest of us.
i.e. the uneducated vs the educated?
I have verzion for 30 years and never had a problem in Lakewood
30 years! we are talking about cell phones, not land lines!
Is your phone corded? Rotary?
I guess you’re not that much of an old timer. Verizon cell service was available back around 2000. I had it for my bag phone and the phone that was mounted in the company car had verizon as well.
they’ve been around since the mid ’90’s
It’s always the same people spreading misinformation about cell phone towers causing cancer and they flood zoning meetings to make sure new ones aren’t built. In reality, you are getting significantly more radiation from your phone in your pocket than you can get from a cell phone tower.
But calling it “radiation” is just a fear tactic. In reality, all light is also radiation. In order for radiation to cause cancer it has to be “ionizing radiation” which is higher energy radiation. Visible light is significantly higher energy than cell phone signals, so if visible light won’t cause cancer, neither will cell signals.
There’s radiation and there’s more radiation. Imagine if the radiation of a cell phone in your pocket was multiplied many times over
you may be right that cell phone is worse, but A) each person has control over that, snot so with tower, B) Who is taking any liability for issues from towers? In large Arab villages in Israel, they saw clearly that people started getting cancer when cell towers were installed, and more cases closer to the towers. They ripped them down.
BTW, cordless phone base emits radiation 24/7. Don’t have it in any room you spend much time, at the very least.
If someone is willing to allow Verizon to build a tower on their property, who can they contact?
It’s not going to happen, don’t contact anyone.
Start eating healthy foods. Don’t use microwave oven that destroys all nutrition. Oh, cell radiation is the same (albeit it goes out, microwave over is designed to keep it in).
False information. I live off of on prospect street . The cell tower is on Massachusetts Ave . Either way, I can see the tower from my window. I have never had normal service since moving to the area. Text messages that say sending, and fail to go through, Calls dropping, Calls breaking up etc.
Don’t blame it on the lack of cell towers. There is one practically hanging over my head.
