PHOTOS: Investigation Continues Into Lakewood Fire Which Displaced Four Familes

Officials this afternoon are continuing to investigate last night’s blaze that displaced four Lakewood families.

Lakewood Police, Ocean County Fire Marshals and officers from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office were all on scene Monday afternoon talking with the residents and neighbors trying to determine how the fire started.

LFD Chief Yahr told TLS “One firefighter was injured and transported to the hospital, he is in stable condition.”

Lakewood Police Captain Greg Staffordsmith says no one was injured as a result of the fire but seven people have been displaced as a result of the damage.

The New Jersey Red Cross, which responded as well to help the occupants of the house, says they provided emergency assistance for things like temporary lodging, food, clothing and other immediate needs.

At this time the cause of the blaze has not been determined and remains under investigation.
