Lakewood firefighters are battling a large structure fire this evening.
The fire, which began shortly after 11pm, is in the Central Avenue area.
One firefighter was transported to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus with minor injuries.
The New Jersey Red Cross, which responded as well to help the occupants of the house, says they helped a total of seven people from four families, providing emergency assistance for things like temporary lodging, food, clothing and other immediate needs.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
This is a developing story and will be updated.

Thank you LFD & LPD for your response and I hope the injured firefighter heals soon.
