New Walking Bridge Across Lake Carasaljo Expected to Open in Time for Pesach

The new walking bridge across Lake Carasaljo is expected to open in time for Pesach, Mayor Ray Coles told TLS in response to an Ask The Mayor question.

“I am hoping to have the bridge open in the next week or so, before the holiday begins,”

Mayor Coles said. “We’re waiting for some bollards to be installed in front of the entrance to the bridge. This will be to prevent anyone from trying to drive onto the bridge!”

In addition, says Coles, the Township will also install mesh on the fences for added security.

In response to another reader-submitted question about the bridge, the Mayor stated “Bicycles will be permitted on the new bridge over the lake.”

  1. I’m looking forward to this. Can they please ban electric bikes and scooters though? Or have clear signage regarding who needs to yield to who. There are some aggressive riders that have scared my kids on our walks and the bridge doesn’t look super wide.

  2. Lakewood kids are ingenuous and that is a plus in general but not on an shanty bridge like this this flimsy piece of semi-construction should be off limits for children it fits in another town full of retired adults who have already learned the lessons of life but Carasaljo Lake is just not the right place for such an experiment mesh fences don’t stop children and they are not durable.

    • If children are mature enough to be there on their own they’re mature enough to know better. & If they are not mature enough why are they at the bridge (or anyone else) without adult supervision?

      • ok,
the girl took them out so that the mother can mop the floors and they were running and jumping, please, got to the playground RIGHT THERE and see what goes on, see how many times a mother is looking or calling after a child who went on his/her own, this is not about cute arguments, this is about being real, caring, and showing responsibility
