HAPPENING NOW: Dozens Gather in Support of TRPD in Toms River [PHOTOS]

Several dozen people gathered today in Toms River to show their support for the Toms River Police Department.

Rally-goers held up signs decrying Mayor Rodrick’s decision to not renew two police captain positions, painting the new Mayor as anti-police.

As earlier reported, Mayor Rodrick stated he was not filling the two retired positions in an effort to fund the EMS unit and staff more ambulances in the Township.

  1. Sorry, but I have to side with the Mayor on this. Riding out a desk until retirement is not a right, as long as our tax dollars are funding them. The positions he is not filling are retiring desk jobs, not cops on the street, risking their lives to keep the community safe.
