Three people are now dead in yesterday’s accident on the GSP, State Police say.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that a Nissan Sentra was traveling south on the GSP local lanes and Nissan Maxima was also traveling south on GSP local lanes,” Police said. “In the area of milepost 119.7, a same direction sideswipe collision occurred between the Sentra and Maxima. The Sentra ran off the road to the right, impacted a metal post, overturned and struck a tree. As a result of the crash, the driver and two passengers of the Sentra sustained fatal injuries.”

The identification of the driver and occupants are pending next of kin notification.
