BREAKING: Jackson Township Appoints Veteran Police Sergeant as Public Safety Director [PHOTOS]

The Jackson Township moments ago appointed a veteran Jackson Police Department sergeant to serve as the new Public Safety Director for the Jackson Police Department.

During the introduction of the ordinance in February, the police union leaders in Jackson publicly issued scathing statements about the leadership within the department. It was those issues that the men and women blue laid out to Township officials during their request for the director.

The Director of Public Safety position does not replace the Chief of Police or eliminate the position. Instead, this force multiplying role will be tasked with helping make corrective recommendations to the administration such as; budgeted items, report on police department-related issues to the township, establish police performance and standards policy, and stay ahead of ever-changing New Jersey state mandates for reporting and accountability of local police departments as directed by the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office.

“Congratulations, Sgt. Joseph Cadido, on your appointment as the Jackson Public Safety Director!” Jackson President Jennifer Kuhn told TLS. “With over 25 years of dedicated service to the Jackson Police Department, Sgt. Cadido has earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues. In addition to his impressive tenure, he has also served as a two-term PBA president, showcasing his exceptional leadership skills. As your liaison, I am excited to collaborate with you in propelling the police department towards greater achievements and progress.”

Nearly the entire Jackson Police Department, except for approximately five officers, were in favor of the creation of the position of the Safety Director.

  1. this position is for someone who needs to do a lot of overtime in the pm because you can’t schedule a crisis and you can’t take vacation from a disaster and you can’t ever take a break from reality
