The Yad Rachel Walkathon, which took place on Sunday, May 13, saw unprecedented success this year with the participation of close to 2500 girls, grades 3rd through 8th.
Run in two shifts, with the traditional Walkathon for the younger age group, and an exciting and competitive Marathon for the older girls, this year’s Walkathon is sure to be discussed by excited participants for months to come.
The Walkathon’s coordinators attribute the event’s incredible success to the creative activities, new innovative prizes, and most of all to all the generous sponsors and devoted volunteers who gave of their time and resources to help this important cause. These dedicated individuals’ support of the Walkathon has enabled them to have a part in Yad Rachel’s work as they help hundreds of families of Lakewood who are struggling with the affects of pre-natal and post-partum challenges.
The money brought in from this year’s Walkathon will enable new mothers to get the support and assistance they need to heal and resume their former routines.
My daughter just used her coupon for free ice cream.
