[Reader Submitted] Hello, There was an accident last night at 10:00 at the corner of Madison Avenue and 14th Street. The cop issued a ticket to the driver that he felt was at fault. The driver told police that she’s not at fault and that there are witnesses. The cop said that if a witness comes forth he will change the police report.
There are witnesses, but the driver was too confused at the time (she was taken to the hospital) to ask the witnesses for their names.
Would you be so kind to ask on your website for any witnesses to please call 732-684-0743.
Thank you.
if you rear ended someone it is always your fault, whether you like it or not.
then they should have stay with this woman until police arrived and given their statement.
I was there right after it happened. I can’t see how it wasn’t her fault??
to #1 – it mentions NOTHING about bumping back bumpers… but thanks for that bit of information.
#3 Looks can be deceiving
Don’t know who was driving that pickup truck but it looked like it should have never been on the road & impounded for unsafe vehicle
I’m sure there will be 50 witnesses now. Hopefully they actually witnessed it!
my friend was in thecar it was the girls fault she trid cutting himoff
Yes, in most cases, the person who rear ended the car in front of them is at fault, however, there are a number of occurrences when that driver is innocent.
For instance, there was a driver who rear ended a car that had cut them off, and STOPPED their vehicle in the middle of a 45 MPH roadway.
When driving 45 MPH, the car will cover about 200 feet before making a sudden complete stop. (That’s assuming it’s during the day, without overcast or rain, etc.)
if you pull out of a stop sign and just make it in front of another car it does not make the guy in back at fault. and either way the driver that pulled out of 14th street was FIRST hit on the front left then in the rear so right there shows that you didn’t make it onto rt 9 totally before he hit you in the rear! driver that came from 14th street is at fault 100% in my eyes and any eyes that know the law!
