Winter Storm Watch Issued, Expect Up To A Foot Of Snow

plowtrucks lkwd_wmA Winter Storm Watch has been issued by the National Weather Service in anticipation of a weekend storm that is slated to bring up to a foot of snow to the area. The storm – currently developing over the Gulf of Mexico and headed toward the northeast – is forecast to move across New Jersey beginning Friday afternoon and continue through much of Saturday, according to the weather service. Snowfall totals are expected to be heavier in the southern parts of the state, but the entire area covered by the watch – which extends from southern Delaware into Somerset County – will receive at least 6 inches of snow. Today will be sunny with a high near 39, according to the weather service. Temperatures will dip down into the low-20s tonight, then climb steadily into the 30s until the snow begins around 1 p.m. Friday. APP
