Wednesday at Lakewood BOE: “Double the Food Boxes, Shorter Lines”

Lakewood school district general counsel Michael Inzelbuch says they will be doubling the amount of food boxes this week, and lines will be shorter than last week.

Last week, 10,000 meals were served. This week, 20,000 meals will be served.

Eligibility:  Children from 0-18 years of age.

Special needs students, who have not yet graduated, up to 21 years of age.

Children who attend a summer school/program and/or summer camp and receive breakfast and lunch are not eligible for a meal box, as each child may only receive one breakfast and one lunch daily.

Meal Distribution will begin at 4:00 p.mand end at 7:00 p.m., or until supplies run out, at the following two locations:

  • Lakewood Middle School
  • Clifton Avenue Grade School

Meal boxes include one breakfast and one lunch for 7 days for each eligible child, for a total of 14 meals per week.

The Attached form must be completed prior to receiving a meal box.

Please feel free to print the form prior to your arrival, or as you wait in line.

The form will help you figure out how many meals you get per family, and will assist in helping the line move faster!

  1. who can we reach out too- can it be done for those that live on lakewood south by the oak street school, so we avoid wasting 2 extra hours on traffic ??

  2. I trust they will double the boxes, but how will they shorten the lines at Lakewood middle school?
The most they can handle there is 4 lanes.

  3. How do I unsubscribe from getting 2 phone calls a day on my home and cell phone about these boxes??? Like 1 phone call a week is okay but this is out of control!

  4. Thank you very much for posting this information! I got a box from them last week and really appreciated what they included in there. @Einstein’s 2nd Cousin- there are many other schools that offer boxes as well with some even offering delivery. There are also many children receiving lunch in day-camp. So there’s no way for them to know how many will be needed from them.
