WATCH LIVE: NASA’s Perseverance Rover Attempts to Land on Mars

NASA’s Martian explorer, named Perseverance, will attempt to land on Mars, a planet that has long been a mystery to science. With the rover so far away from Earth, NASA engineers will be unable to communicate with the rover in real time, meaning it will have to manage to land on its own while factoring in the atmosphere, its speed, potential threats on the surface of the planet, among many other hazards.

The rover is scheduled to land on Mars at 3:55 PM.
