Five Lakewood Police Department officers were among the graduates of the Ocean County Police Academy’s Basic Recruit Class 126, which held its graduation ceremony this afternoon in Toms River.

The graduating Lakewood officers are Javiel F. Figueroa, Isabella M. Grassadonia, Michael J. Ormsby, Donald A. Ortiz Jr., and Mark W. McDermitt.

The class began its training on April 24, preparing the new officers for careers in law enforcement.

The graduation ceremony marked the completion of months of training for recruits from police departments and law enforcement agencies throughout the region.

The officers will now undergo in-house training before hitting the roads.
