VIDEO: Police this evening have been flooded with fireworks-related calls.

The video below is of one of many illegal fireworks shows going on around town this evening, in honor of July 4.

Is the township really saving themselves any money by having the fireworks display on the wrong night when they need extra police staffed to shut down all these illegal shows on the right night???

Gaby your comment is pretty rude. As I am Jewish and so is most of this town and we all celebrate July 4. Half of us aren’t even original Americans. Most of our grandparents are from another country. Try to think before you speak.

Funny, Gabi’s right. Yeah we also shtam from foreigners. (Unless your ancestors were American Indians we all are foreigners!) But at least our parents/grandparents learned English and became productive members of society. They never heard “For Yiddish press or say 2”!! They learned English, worked hard, and for the most part succeeded. Like Jackie Mason said, “Nobody ever said I better cross the street; here come 3 Jewish accountants”!

SEASIDE HEIGHTS, N.J is supposed to have a show on sunday. According to the news article their saturday show was washed out. Not sure where in SEASIDE HEIGHTS but I am sure you can check their city site

I find it real ignorant and selfish that independence day is celebrated on July 4th which is when fireworks are to be displayed but yet we couldn’t bring our kids to see the fireworks display in our own home town because of outsiders felt that they didn’t want them done on the 4th they wanted then done on the 2nd! Well if you don’t like the way things are ran out here please and I repeat please get out of here and go back to where you came from. Its over crowded in Lakewood. So stop all the complaining and bickering for nothing!
