As first reported by TLS Community, a suspect was injured in an officer-involved shooting in South Toms River Wednesday night.
Details of what prompted the shooting were not immediately released.
The suspect was reportedly struck at least twice, and was transported to JSUMC for treatment.
Officials are expected to release more information about the incident today.

Billhimer announced that the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit are currently investigating a non-fatal police officer involved shooting that occurred in South Toms River on April 29, 2026, at approximately 9:49 p.m. No further information may be released at this time pursuant to New Jersey Attorney General Directive No. 2006-5; a public statement will be released upon completion of the investigation, with the approval of the Attorney General.”









police are professionals. they do alot. we owe them alot.
but that does not mean that a volunteer based neighborhood patrol would be the wrong thing for our communities.
and even then, we would still owe the police alot.
