VIDEO & PHOTOS: Maamad Kedushas Beis Hachaim Held For Newly-Established Beis Hachaim in Toms River

A new Beis Hachaim has been established in Toms River, with a special Maamad Kedushas Beis Hachaim held yesterday to mark the establishment of the new cemetery.

The new Beis Hachaim is located at the Toms River Jewish Cemetery on West Whitty Road, providing a new section for the frum community. The cemetery was established in the early 1900s and includes sections serving the Conservative and Reform Jewish communities.

The Maamad, the first such gathering in the Lakewood area in many years, was attended by numerous Rabbanim, askanim and community members, and included circling the Bei Hachaim multiple times while saying certain Tefillos.

The new Beis Hachaim was established by the Chevra Anshei Chesed to help meet the growing need for additional cemetery space as the Lakewood area and surrounding communities continue to grow.

The property consists of flat, level land and will operate under the supervision of local Rabbanim.

Plots will now be available for kehillahs, families, and individuals. A perpetual care fund will also be established for the ongoing maintenance of the Beis Hachaim.
