Officials are investigating whether a tornado hit Howell this morning.

Although damage was throughout the township, it was primarily centered around the Rt.9/West Farms Road area. The Ideal Plaza and Home Depot received considerable damage. Two occupied cars were uplifted into one another. Clothing bins were tossed about, building facades were blown off, store fronts damaged, unsecured exterior items were blown into mangled piles and trees were uplifted. Thankfully, no one was injured.

Officials from National Weather Service are investigating to determine if it was indeed a tornado.
