Video Message from Rav Yitzchok Zilberstein shlita: “True Pikuach Nefesh”

The results of her blood test made Shiffy nervous. Nothing seemed to be in the range of normal. When her doctor called to discuss the results, his tone of voice made one thing clear: her life as a successful sheitelmacher and mother of 7 was about to change forever.

The diagnosis of advanced stages of cancer stopped Shiffy’s life in its tracks. Shiffy’s hospital room is decorated with pictures of her seven young children and cheery “Get Well Soon” signs, and the stacks of personal belongings on the windowsill tell the story of a woman who has been confined to the hospital for far too long – she’s been hospitalized in the oncological ward of Tel Hashomer for over a year.

Without her income, the family’s financial situation is precarious and threatens the well-being of seven children who are already terrified of losing their mother to the deadly cancer. Shiffy’s husband has been forced to cut down on his teaching hours, and his reduced salary is nowhere near enough to support a large family. They need money urgently for basic necessities such as rent, food and electricity bills.

As a friend of the family, Rav Yitzchok Zilberstein shlita has taken it upon himself to personally vouch for the family, as well as their dire financial situation. A special video message from Rav Yitzchok Zilberstein shlita appears on the page set up to raise money for Shiffy’s family.
