More than 900 pumpkin pies were distributed yesterday by the Lakewood School District as a gesture of sincere appreciation to all of the heroes who continue to provide in-person instruction to Lakewood’s 6,000+ public school children.
All pies were donated by Lakewood’s very own Gelbstein’s Bakery, and are all certified kosher.
The Lakewood School District has worked around-the-clock to ensure that its students, the vast majority of whom are from disadvantaged families, are able to receive in-person instruction so that their parents can go to work and provide them with basic essentials, like housing, clothing, and food.
To achieve this, all Lakewood public school staff had to work collaboratively to ensure the safety of both students and teachers alike, an effort that has been successful beyond what any observers had been expecting.
The box has no hechsher on it what is it certified under?
How do I know I didnt get a non kosher pie?
I am very glad you clarified that ALL of the pies were provided by Gelbsteins. BUT, the boxes should have had a heksher on them. Unfortunately, I’m sure many unsure people threw them out or gave them away.
i gave mine to the cleaning lady……no hechser at all
Every box was sealed with a Gelbstein’s label.
