VIDEO: K9 helps police track down alleged DWI Hit & Run suspect in Lakewood

An alleged DWI driver who fled on foot following an accident in Lakewood, is in custody – thanks to the help of a K9.

The accident occurred on Route 9 near Pine Street shortly before 8 PM.

The suspect fled on foot and a K9 was called in to assist in the search for him.

Within approximately 15 minutes, after a search through backyards in the area, the suspect was located and taken into custody.

No serious injuries were reported.
