What are we teaching young generations here? That we should sing and dance when we make money? Is this what were teaching our children? That when we make money were happy?
This is not about “making money”, It’s about supporting limmud hatorah. I’m baffled how some people will always find negativity in everything. Grow up and get some happiness in your life.
what a pity, if you have to explain what is going on its sad
Great news! I was rooting for them!
#1 interesting point. Another concern with these massive collections is that it is all about assisting people in financial distress. But, countless people feel compelled to donate, by being sent links from “friends”. Only Hashem can judge what is a genuine mitzva.
Why is it less of a “genuine mitzvah” because you feel compelled by friends to do it. Do you do all your mitzvos with 100% correct intentions
I’m absolutely blown away how much these campaigns raise. Just this week alone, Belz raised $1.5 Million, Bnos Hadassah raised $800,000 & Mesoras Avos $300,000. Not to mention last week R’ Sorotzkin raised over $10MM for his Israeli moisdois.
Mi k’ amcha Yisroel
To number one, negetative ppl will always be the same, we know there were 3 other Lakewood mosdes that had compaigns, they all made it, look on how much the Chasidim are bringing to Lakewood, all hiemishe mosdas with this big numbers, kien yirbu
total $325 was raised by mesoros avos and $320 for rabbi lefkowitz shull.I am blown away how much money can b raised by small donations we have seen this phenomenon in the last few presidential elections
I’m trying to hold myself back from commenting but I can’t, so here I go. If Belz .. and let’s just say Belz hasn’t been here in Lakewood as long as the many other mosdos and institutions have and also Belz is not the core of our community and by that I mean it’s not Hatzolah and it’s not Tomchei Shabbos and it’s bot Ahavas Tzedokah and it’s not like the many yeshivas and kollelim that are the fabric of our town. So can anyone tell me why do all of our mosdos and institutions seem to struggle one way or another and always seem to be lacking funds.
Nothing against Belz, it’s just mind boggling where we put our priorities….
Let’s make this clear. Belz collected within their own community and got the numbers to 1.5 without the help of general Lakewood as you say. If other mosdas are lacking funds they’re entitled to sweat like Belz did.
Good
Does this mean i wont be getting anymore phone calls
So, the chassidim are tycoons? Maybe they will bring business into Lakewood, or are they in Toms River? So many of ours are struggling.
