A car thief was arrested at gunpoint this afternoon, thanks to the assistance of LCSW/Shomrim.

At approximately 4:00 PM LCSW received a call about a man going through vehicles in a parking lot off of Clifton Avenue.

Upon arrival, members found a man chasing a vehicle, which the suspect had just stolen.

The members followed the vehicle and called police.

For approximately 15 minutes, police attempted to stop the vehicle, but the suspect fled.

After a lengthy chase, the vehicle was finally blocked in by police in Brick and arrested at gunpoint.

The Suspect was taken into custody without incident.
