VIDEO: Assemblyman Rible to Republican Club of Lakewood: Gun Control is Getting a Bit Out of Control

VIDEO: In an address to the Republican Club meeting in Lakewood last night, Assemblyman David Rible of the 30th Legislative District spoke about his proposed bill and gun control in general.

Following a newspaper’s release of gun ownership information, Assemblyman Rible proposed a bill which would ban the release of such information which he says would jeopardize the safety of the gun owners. The Assemblyman noted that just two weeks after the release, a home of one of those listed was targeted, and the thief attempted to pry the gun safe open.

The Assemblyman also spoke about the proposed gun law changes which would limit the capacity of bullets in a clip. Rible, a former Police Officer, said if such a law was passed, it would be hard to limit the 15 bullet capacity to Police Officers, who normally carry such firepower in their magazines.

  1. Thank you Assemblyman for speaking out about this issue ,we need more politicians telling the truth instead of making talking points to gain politcal points

  2. Gun control is a joke. The Democrats keep focusing on legal guns owned by tax paying citizens. The problem is the illegal guns. Get the illegal guns off the streets and THAT will saves lives. In New York they had a “stop and search” policy, that took guns off the street, but the liberals cried foul citing that the Police were violating their civil rights! How about my civil rights to live in peace without fear of harm.

  3. Instead of posturing, let him state some statistics. Like how few legally owned guns are used in crimes. And explain why a hunter or other recreational user cannot be asked to reload after 9 shots. or 11. and why should automatic assault weapons, which spray tens if not hundreds of rounds per second, should not be banned. I don’t need my neighbor’s kid getting his daddy’s AR-15 and shooting up the neighborhood because the ice cream truck passed him by.

  4. to #3 you have a valid concern “I don’t need my neighbor’s kid getting his daddy’s AR-15 and shooting up the neighborhood because the ice cream truck passed him by.”
this madman that just killed all those innocent children did it with his mothers leaglly owned guns, SO that points to the issue of having armed police or retired police officers in the schools, why is it ok to call the police after the damage is done but not OK to have them there to prevent it in the first place ?????????????
