Though Sandy relentlessly struck the close-knit community, wiping out years of memories and sentimental items, the care and love shown by fellow Yiddin who came from around the tri-state area to assist with the cleanup, was truly remarkable.
Aryeh Gelbard, the producer of the video, wrote: “On Sunday November 11th 2012, I joined 100s of volunteers from Brooklyn to Baltimore in the post-Hurricane Sandy cleanup effort. Together with my working boots and gloves, I brought my camera. Here’s what I saw.”

I am happy to be a jew. I went to mesivta in seagate(which doesnt exist for many years now) and it is a truly beutiful community. I am sadden to see such a thing. I feel for them and wish them a speedly rebuilding.
