VIDEO: A Glimpse Of What Our Brethren Just A Few Miles Away Endured During Hurricane Sandy

VIDEO: Though this video does not show Lakewood, we felt it’s an important video for our readers to watch. Narrated by world-renowned composer Yossi Green – a resident of the hard-hit Seagate community, this new video gives viewers a glimpse of the devastation our brethren felt just a few miles away endured when Sandy struck.

Though Sandy relentlessly struck the close-knit community, wiping out years of memories and sentimental items, the care and love shown by fellow Yiddin who came from around the tri-state area to assist with the cleanup, was truly remarkable.

Aryeh Gelbard, the producer of the video, wrote: “On Sunday November 11th 2012, I joined 100s of volunteers from Brooklyn to Baltimore in the post-Hurricane Sandy cleanup effort. Together with my working boots and gloves, I brought my camera. Here’s what I saw.”
