The US Department of Justice is requesting the data from the governors of four states – New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Michigan – regarding “orders which may have resulted in the deaths of thousands of elderly nursing home residents,” during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The DOJ’s civil rights division is reportedly considering opening investigations into the actions by the four governors, which may have been in violation of a federal law that protects the rights of patients in nursing homes and eldercare facilities.
The four governors forced nursing homes to admit Covid-19 patients into their facilities, which some say led to to the deaths of thousands of elderly patients in nursing homes across New Jersey and the other states.
Governor Murphy’s press secretary, Alyana Alfaro Post, responded to the request from the Department of Justice by implying that it is nothing but a partisan witch hunt.
“The fact that this request from the DOJ, sent only to four states with Dem govs, announced by press release during the RNC, speaks volumes about the nature of the reviews,” Post said in a statement. “Throughout the pandemic, the State of New Jersey followed CDC guidance and took numerous actions to protect residents of our nursing homes. We do not comment on investigative inquiries and will respond through the appropriate channels in due course.”
What an idiot!!! Of course they sent it only to these 4 governors that are dictators – oops I mean Democrat . They are the only ones that forced the nursing homes to take in the covid patients thereby causing thousands to die
Tsk,tsk Alyana. Struck a nerve there, eh? Nothing to hide, no worries, but you’re in a panic. I hope your bed is comfortable enough for tossing and turning all night.
They caused the death of thousands of other patients and should be held accountable.
