UPDATE: Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Toms River

As first reported on TLS Status last night, authorities are investigating a fatal accident that occurred in Toms River last night.

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit-Vehicular Homicide Squad, Toms River Township Police Department, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, are currently investigating a fatal pedestrian strike that occurred at approximately 8:25 p.m. last night, in the area of Route 166 and Hilltop Road in Toms River Township.

According to information provided to TLS, the pedestrian reportedly wandered into the road, and was struck by a motorcycle. The pedestrian was then struck by a car who didn’t notice the person lying on the road.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene.
