A 43-year-old man has died from injuries he suffered after being struck by a vehicle earlier this month in Manchester Township, police said.

Richard J. Fescharek was hit at about 9:37 p.m. on August 9 at the intersection of County Route 530 and Swift Circle in the Whiting section of Manchester Township.

Fescharek sustained multiple life-threatening injuries in the crash and was airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in critical condition.

Police previously said Fescharek entered the roadway in front of a westbound 2013 Toyota Camry, resulting in the collision, which propelled Fescharek approximately 50 feet.

Police sah improper crossing by a pedestrian appears to have been a contributing factor at this time, though the investigation remains ongoing.

The crash is being investigated by Patrolman Anthony DeBlasio of the Manchester Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit.
