A man was arrested at gunpoint after fleeing from police and ending up in a creek near John Street, TLS has learned.

Officers responded to a 911 call reporting a man and two women fighting in the parking lot of 144 John Street.

As officers approached the man, he turned and began walking away. Officers instructed him to stop, but he instead began running in an attempt to flee.

Officers gave chase and located the man in the creek, close to where the initial incident took place. He was taken into custody at gunpoint.

The man was charged with obstruction and was also found to have outstanding warrants out of Berkeley Township and Lakewood Township.

He was transported to the Ocean County Jail in connection with the outstanding warrants.
