The Lakewood Development Corporation, the administrative agency for the Urban Enterprise Zone (UEZ) program, is offering the public a free small business seminar “Doing Business with the Government: How to Get Your Foot in the Door,” Wednesday, November 19 2014, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Conference Room C, of the Lakewood Municipal Building, 231 Third Street, Lakewood.
The workshop, given by NJIT Defense Procurement Center, will explain the process of doing business with the federal government. NJIT Defense Procurement Center attempts to increase it’s client companies’ business base beyond local opportunities to all federal agencies by instructing them as to how these entities purchase their goods and services, and what kinds of certification and registration are available to distinguish their firm from their competitors. The center has generated more than $30 million a year in new contracts for New Jersey small businesses. A question and answer period will follow. All businesses are welcome.
