Donald Trump says that if he had been president in 2001, his immigration policies would have kept terrorists from attacking the World Trade Center on September 11.
“I am extremely, extremely tough on illegal immigration. I’m extremely tough on people coming into this country,” Trump said on Fox News Sunday. “I believe that if I were running things, I doubt those families would have — I doubt that those people would have been in the country.”
The billionaire, in an escalating feud with Republican presidential contender Jeb Bush, continued his assault on the legacy of former President George W. Bush.
“Jeb said ‘we were safe with my brother.’ ‘We were safe.’ Well, the World Trade Center just fell down,” Trump continued. “Now, am I trying to blame him? I’m not blaming anybody. But the World Trade Center came down. So when he said, ‘we were safe’ — that’s not safe. We lost 3,000 people.” More on Fox.
Sorry to burst this egomaniacs big bubble.
President GW Bush was in office for a mere eight months, YES, eight MONTHS and this über chuchem has it all figured out!!
What a joke!!
If Trump wants to place blame, I can give him some starting points:
The President that immediately preceded President George W. Bush would be a good staring point.
President Clinton had Eight YEARS to make “America Safe” especially after the first bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993. Mr. Clinton should have tried to Make America Safe.
But you will never hear this from the “Make America Great Again” man.
Why has Trump said nasty things about John McCain, George W. Bush and others but has kept eerily quiet about President Clinton?
Did Mr. Clinton have no part in Keeping America Safe?
Point to Ponder.
Because right now he’s running against other Republicans, not Denocrats.
@ Whut
Whut are you talking about?
Is Trump running against John McCain?
Is Trump running against former President George W. Bush?
No.
There is absolutely no reason for him to be bashing fellow republicans that are not running against him
Moreover, if the Donald is a real Republican as he proclaims, does he not know President Reagan’s eleventh commandment:
“Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican.”
Although I lova Mr. TRUMP. I feel that he is quite full of himself. #makeamericagreatagain
