From stroller recalls to toxic baby bling, it’s been a bad few months for children’s products—that’s why Toys “R” Us wants to give back. From now until February 20 the mega-retailer for all things kiddy is holding a massive trade-in event for those many items that may have proved hazardous to your child’s health. NY1 reported that during this year’s “Great Trade-In” event customers are urged to hand over their strollers, cribs and other baby items in exchange for a 25 percent discount. Eddie Bauer, Evenflo, Graco and Jeep have all volunteered to take part in the promotion. And over at Wal-Mart, buyers are encouraged to immediately return their “Princess And The Frog” pendants. Apparently the charms were one of a large Chinese-manufactured group that contain cadmium, a chemical that can be harmful to kids’ brain development. Gathest.

can I bring back my 13 year old Graco stroller? It’s hardly used, looks as good as new.
According to the info I received (via email & online) you can bring in any item (any brand) from these categories (whether or not you purchased it at Toys R Us/ Babies R Us):
Car seat
High Chair
Bassinet
Stroller
Play yard (Pack N Play)
Crib
Travel system
toddler bed
You then get a coupon for 25% off any of these items from a participating brand (It looks like most major brands are participating). You must use the coupon on the day it is issued. You need not use it on the same category. While you may return as many items as you like & you will get a coupon for each one, you may only use one coupon on each item that you purchase (in other words you can’t bring in 4 items and get one for free).
