The Township Committee this evening is expected to adobt their 2012 Municipal budget. The approximately $67 million budget has a 0% tax levy increase, as earlier reported.
Despite a preliminary $2,000,000 budget shortfall, officials were able to avoid layoffs, and keep municipal spending flat without sacrificing any services in the process.
The biggest bulk of the budget, approximately $25,000,000, goes towards Township salaries. The rest of the taxes goes to the County and to the Board of Education.
This year would be the third year in a row that the Committee kept a 0% tax levy increase in the budget. TLS
how about a decrease in taxes…
Much waste at the township level…..
Just wondering with a 2 million dollar shortfall…… where is the additional revenue come from if there is no tax increase ? …. Did the township take out loans or something of the like to bridge the gap ? Can someone please enlighten me ?
Nobody will enlighten you. It’s all one huge secret. Just like Obama and the AG. What do you expect if they’re hiding something?
What about all the new homes that are being built, where the township is collecting additional revenues. We should all be given a decrease in our property taxes!
Kudos to Yid everything in this Township is one big secret like were is the extra 1 million dollars added each year by 100 new homes being constructed and paying an average of 10K each were is all this money going time to have a march in Trenton to disclose all this
the levy may stay the same but with all the tax appeals, the rate will definitely be going up…
The busing will take a tax increase. More homes and more buses.
This will surely raise taxes. There is no money in the school budget for more buses. There will be one in and one out, no more time changes. If you want busing it will cost more money.
