BARUCH DAYAN HA’EMES: The Torah world lost one of its greatest giants today with the Petirah of the Ponovez Rosh Yeshiva, Harav Michel Yehuda Lefkowitz, at the age of 97. The Rosh Yeshivah was hospitalized this past Shabbos after collapsing at his home, and has passed away a short time ago at the hospital.
Harav Lefkowitz Zatzal, who was a Talmid Muvhak of Rav Shlomo Heiman Zatzal, and a member of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah, was the Rosh Yeshivah of Ponovez for about 50 years.

The levaya is scheduled to take place at Ponovizh Yeshivah in Bnei Brak Tues Morning At 11:00 Am EY time- so if there will be a hookup from Lakewood it will be at 4:00 am (monday night):

Lets all chap a rein at this moment to take one of his great middos ,either in learning or davening or bein adam lachavero ,kedushah,smerius eynaim,etc.like it says by eliyohu hanovis petirah that elisha took “pe shnaim”,the seforim say the same thing is by every tzadik,by his petirah you could be koinah some of his good traits ! zechoso yagen alenu!

HaRav Mechel Yehuda ZT”L wasn’t in his home he was in Yerusalayim where he was resting since Monday and was niftar in Yerushalayim on Sunday afternoon. The Godal was from the warmest most caring people in all of klal yisroel with no matter what was on the gadols mind. It’s a major tragic loss for all of klal yisroel
