There’s an important election coming up this Motzei Shabbos, February 17, 2024. You can vote in person at the Pleasant Plains Firehouse at 40 Clayton Ave or the Silverton Firehouse at 15 Kettle Creek Rd.
Toms River is a bustling community with around 98,000 people living across 40.5 square miles. Our local heroes, the Toms River Fire Department, are a dedicated group of 350 volunteers spread across 9 stations. In our area, District 2, we’ve got 105 firefighters who are always ready to respond to emergencies. They were super busy last year, answering 861 calls!
This time, we’re voting to choose two Commissioners who will help make important decisions for our township. It’s not as much about who you vote for but to show that we care enough to vote, and to vote to up the budget for 2024
Our fire department is top-notch, and they’re all volunteers! But with our town growing fast, we need to make sure they have the right tools and resources to keep us safe. That means updating equipment and services, which costs money. So, when you vote, remember to think about what’s best for our community’s safety and future.
So, mark your calendars and get ready to have your say in shaping the future of Toms River! Let’s make our voices count for a better tomorrow.
