Chaverim On Today’s Nesivos Marathon: “We’re Prepared to Provide Roadside Assistance to Hundreds of Runners If Necessary”
Chaverim of CJ said Sunday that it has the ability to provide roadside assistance to hundreds of runners during today’s Nesivos Marathon and to repair several hundred pairs of flat sneakers and replace them with spare sneakers if necessary.
“Replacing a flat pair of sneakers with a spare pair is our specialty,” said Central Jersey Chaverim member, Ralph Sirenburg. “We can also provide assistance to any runner who might need a jump start or a quick charge to get his feet back on the road.”
“Roadside assistance is what we’re all about,” Mr. Sirenburg added. “We’ll be available throughout the marathon to provide roadside assistance to any and all shoeless runners who could use our help. But we always advise runners to carry a spare set of running shoes with them at all times, just in case their shoes suddenly go flat.”
Chaverim member, Alex Safeman, told reporters on Sunday that, during last year’s marathon, he installed dozens of spare shoes for runners of all ages.
“I’m more than happy to help out a distressed runner whose shoes have gone flat,” he said, “just as long as the runner is wearing a clean pair of socks underneath his shoes.”
