Today: O.C. Freeholders To Introduce Budget With 2-Cent Increase In Tax Rate

two centsThe Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholder plans to introduce the 2010 budget at today’s regular meeting. The nearly $348 million spending plan is expected to include a 1.8-cent increase in the county tax rate, in order to make up for plunging revenues and rising costs. Also on the agenda are various resolutions allowing for road improvements throughout the county, such as projects in Lacey Township, Harvey Cedars and Long Beach Township. POAC.

  1. This is done now so when the next time elections come this is long forgotten. In this environement where people are losing or can’t find a job. People are getting laid off and they do not consiser trimming their budget/payroll just raise taxes. Politicians must do for people first.
