Power outages are being reported in the area Prospect Street, liberty Drive, Westgate, and near the Jackson border.
The cause is unknown at this time.
Over 3,000 in Lakewood are without power, and over 9,000 in Ocean County.
Power is expected to be restored by 7:30PM.
UPDATE 4:30PM: The outage was reportedly due to a job being performed by the power company, which required power to be shut. The job has been completed and power is expected to be turned back on shortly.

Blackout in New England village for a second time (came back on after a few minutes and then went out again).
Thanks to battery backups and hot swappable SSDs I didn’t lose anything but shut down just in case. Power came back on so I brought everything back on line and then same thing. Double hassle. Everything is off til later. My confidence is shot. Batteries need power to charge, they don’t last more than like 30-45 minutes with a bunch of stuff plugged in. Plus the beeping is annoying. Shut it all down. Called it a day. Still have my phone for comms, but I’m gonna relax with the Scoop on the phone for awhile, catch up on the news for a while and grab a Sefer. Good night.
