PHOTOS (Updated 8:20 a.m.) & VIDEO (VIDEO 1: Updated 12:40 a.m.) (Additional videos will be posted later) of this evening’s massive gathering in support of R’ Shalom Rubashkin, which took place at the Lake Terrace hall. Organizers estimate over 5,000 turned out for the event. Guest speakers of the evening were Getzel Rubashkin, son of R’ Shalom, as well as Bob Barr, former Presidential candidate and Congressman. The massive turnout had traffic backed up until New Hampshire and Route 88. (Professional Photo credits: Crystal Photography). 7:50 p.m. We are having issues with the other videos at this time. We are still working on it.

What a Kiddush Hashem!!!!
wow I have never seen such a turn out what a kidush Hashem we have to thank the Lakewood Police and Chavarim for such a great job.
Lets all hope Hashem heard our tefillios and and answers them
was this the biggest event lakewood has seen since reb nosson s levaya ?
Wow- Mi Keamcha Yisrael. In what other nation would people not give a seconds thought to long held biases and beliefs and join together as one family to make a difference? In the zechus of the achdus that the jewish world at large is portraying may Rabbi Rubashkin be released speedily and may this be the last Tisha B’av in galus!
It was very inspiring! Much more than 5000. Largest gathering ever in lakewood . Just one critique, please people have rachmanus on us. make the speeches shorter and put a time limit on each speaker. Also not everyone speaks Yiddish its torture for a non yiddish speaker to sit thru long Yiddish speeches. Hut Rachmonis on d’oilem . Mi Kamcha yisroel
thanks to chaveirim and lcsw and lpd for traffic control
Thank you lcsw for your constant hard work
A very special gathering indeed. It’s very hard to get a good count of attendees since there were hundreds of people coming and leaving all throughout the evening. (I personally thought bet 7000-8000 would be a fair estimate.) I left after 11, and there was inbound traffic on New Hampshire almost till the stadium! Truly amazing.
The zechus (merit) of such achdus (unity) is truly immeasurable.
Many thanks to the countless people who spent hours in the hot and sticky weather controlling the traffic and crowds.
One point to the organizers – please – everybody understands English; many do not understand Yiddish. This was an event for ALL to be inspired from… Also, it would have been very nice to have speeches maximum of 15 minutes each. The program should have been thought through a bit better.
Otherwise, a truly amazing gathering from a community that truly cares for one another.
To All,
I’m sure it was a wonderful event and for a very good cause. Thanks to all who had a hand putting it together.
It was not the largest event to ever take place in town. In June of 1940 50,000+ visitors flooded downtown for a weekend event.
Your Lakewood History minute for today.
Please change the etimated number of 5,00.
The tent event is estimated at more than that, and this was obviously MUCH MUCH bigger.
wow! its wonderful that we showed so much support! Mi Ki’amcha Yisroel!
The hall was jammed packed, the chupah room was jammed packed, the kabalas panim room was jammed packed, the hallways were jammed packed, outside the hall jammed packed.
Mi Keamcha Yisroel!
WOW AND DOUBLE WOW !!!!!!!!! THANK YOU CHAVEIRIM & LCSW
