Thousands in Lakewood, Howell Lose Power; Multiple Traffic Lights out on Route 9

power out rt 9Thousands of JCP&L customers in Lakewood and Howell – including a shopping center – are without power this afternoon. Traffic lights along Route 9 are also out from Lakewood to Howell.

The outage was reportedly due to an accident in the area.

The shopping center of Barnes & Nobles lost power, as well as the Home Click shopping center and multiple others.

The Hatzolah garage on Heathwood Avenue also lost power and is working off generators.

Police along the State road are directing traffic.
