This Sunday: An Evening of Maternal Wellness Education

Presented by: KnafayimShould I consider myself a high risk patient? Which symptoms should concern me and which can I ignore? Baruch Hashem the Lakewood population is growing. In the sha’ah tova of expectancy, so many concerns and questions arise. How many times do we fret over aches and pains wondering, Is this normal? Come spend Sunday evening, February 23 at La Isha for An Evening of Maternal Wellness Education brought to you by Knafayim.

The night will open with Rebbetzin Gissinger, who will grace us with introductory words and deliver an important message. Rabbi Gissinger zt”l had been viewed by many as a final halachic authority on matters related to maternal health, and thus it will be an honor to hear from his Rebbetzin.

In a world with an overabundance of information, how do we know what’s really relevant? Dr. Yaakov E. Abdelhak, MD, FACOG will bring us a frum doctor’s perspective on pertinent topics for the frum woman, not readily available online. He will also discuss possible causes and how to proceed in the event of adverse outcomes, and he will focus on medical advances available in time of need.

Stressors are real, yet stress is detrimental to our health. How much stress is considered within normal limits and when do I need to seek help? Mrs. Bracha Daum, LCSW will address coping with stress, anxiety, and maternal fears; strategies for maintaining emotional health; and guidance as to when to seek help.

A doula, do I need one? Will I feel overburdened or at ease with a third person in the room? Will my husband feel uncomfortable? Mrs. Rivkie Senderovitz, ICD, ICCE, RN, will join us and share how to make the most of a life changing experience.

And finally, learn firsthand from Mrs. Malkie Klaristenfeld the story of Knafayim: how the challenges of one woman birthed an organization to support women across the world. For the past 18 years Malkie has been there for women experiencing challenges or adverse outcomes in pregnancies. Knafayim today has volunteers in the NY Tristate area, Philadelphia, California, Toronto, Australia, and Israel. With its team of doulas, peer support, and teleconference support series, Knafayim is there to hold the hand of every woman as she travels a journey no woman should travel alone.

So come one, come all! This evening promises to be b’ezras Hashem an opportunity you don’t want to miss. It will be relaxing, informative, and educational, addressing topics pertinent to the health of you, the frum woman.

Admission is free of charge, however, your donation will enable Knafayim to continue helping others.

  1. I can personally attest to the unbelievable and life changing work of Knafayim. Our family has gone through some challenging situations and Malkie and her volunteers were there every step of the way helping and guiding us which made a very difficult situation that much easier. Thank you for all you do for those dealing with loss here in Lakewood and elsewhere. There is no other organization like this!! Hatzlocha in all you do!
