This “bright ? Idea” won’t fly. If the BOE needs the money ? so badly they shoukd instead take the money from the millions and millions set aside for the most expansive HVAC sytems they plan to install in every single public school building (which we the taxpayers already voted to approve) and buy a little less expensive. As it is, the thiught if the soon-to-come sky-rocketing electricity bills ? is going to be another huge expense we will become responsible to pay!

Again? No way. Period. We need to get rid of all the people who think they can just tax the living daylights out of us.

Are they crazy.
tell them to sell back all those brand new buses they just bought for their exclusive use and you have more than the million they are looking for

Yes, from what i heard they are paying top dollar for hvac systems. A crazy amount. And we are paying for it. And to “yeshivish” i pay a fortune of money in taxes and live a drop less than 2 miles from my kids schools, i feel like i deserve bussing.

Ask for more money aND then raise taxes? No! Step one: make those that lIves within 2 miles pay for bussing IF they want it and step two: make those that live outside of lkwd township pay for bussing and stop making lkwd pay for them while those living in lkwd far from school r still without bussing!lkwd get your act together already!

WHEN IS ELECTION? DAY WE HAVE TO VOTE THIS DOWN!

NO - NO - NO

NO – NO – NO they’ll waist this $ just like they did and continue to do with all of our taxes!

I am sure if that’s not an option on the table, they’ll be able to do the same with less! (just like any other private business)

I just got a notice from my Mortgage company of a $1,000 escrow shortfall due to the last tax raise.

I already pay to much money and get nothing for it. My kids don’t have busing. I’ll gladly take my tax money back and hire a private contractor to take my garbage.

Hundreds of thousands of dollars spent on Ipads and other not necessary technology, all approved by the State monitors, let the schools district go bankrupt. They are bleeding the taxpayers dry.

lets tax the builders. How is that for an innovative idea?

To David,

Who built your house? Howabout we also require the extra tax obligation on all homes built and expanded during the past 20 years??

Josh

To David: when you tax the builders theyll flip the taxes into the buyers. Raise the already inflated prices for homes. Not gonna help.

Remember this is a permanent tax levy, not a one time expense.

Take head to what is going on. Its not going to get any easier with the influx of residents moving to Lakewood, there are days you can not get from one side of Lakewood to the other in a decent amount of time. And with the influx of people there will be an influx of other things..suck it up the taxes are not going to be lowered, with a 500k house minimum in town in some places you will pay more in taxes. It sucks but its going to get worse before it gets better, if ever.

It is time to seriously consider closing the Lakewood public schools. The buildings are collapsing, the busses don’t get the kids there on time, and the quality of education once they do arrive is questionable. Let’s pay the surrounding towns the required stipend, which is less than half the amount we are paying now. Give the kids and taxpayers a break! The religious schools can then fend for themselves.

Raise taxes for debt reduction? It’s a joke!! TAKE IT OUT OF THE CHECKING ACCOUNTS OF THE POLITICIANS WHO ARE IN CHARGE. It’s their ideas and their mistakes.
