As a parent of two adorable children kids who are not yet in school, life can certainly be challenging. Perhaps at the top of the list of challenges is finding them a proper daycare. My husband and I work full-time jobs and, as anyone who works knows, finding a playgroup that will watch your children full-time is all but impossible.
The recent explosion in daycares has changed the landscape, but only for some. I know it’s only for some, because for a long time, we couldn’t find one that fit our needs, despite us being approved for CHS. This led to us losing a significant portion of our income, as I had to cut down my hours simply so that my children would have someone watching them.
I really do think that we need to have a communal conversation about this problem. Many parents find themselves stuck in a Catch-22 situation: to make enough money to live respectably, you have to work long hours. But to work longer hours, you need a daycare to watch your child – and such a daycare often either doesn’t exist, or – as is becoming a common problem – are too full to accept more children, leaving parents stranded.
On my own end, things Baruch Hashem worked out. I found a fantastic daycare called Bubblefun, which is a newer daycare on the border of Lakewood, that would do a fantastic job at taking care of my children and making sure they are learning and developing properly. If it could be of any help, if you’re looking for a great option, I strongly recommend them. You can sign up or get more information by called 908-543-KIDS (5437), Whatsapping 732-710-7847, emailing them at bubblefundaycare.com, and you can also visit their website (bubblefundaycare.com) to see what it’s all about.
That said, I think it’s high time we all had a constructive conversation about how to advance the needs of parents locally, because for many it’s really not working.
