Through the Inpatient Concierge Service, each patient receives a courtesy bedside visit from a staff member at the Saint Barnabas Health Care Link to offer assistance in scheduling all tests, appointments and post-hospitalization medical care. “Prior to discharge from any of the inpatient units at Kimball Medical Center, a representative from the Saint Barnabas Health Care Link will visit each patient at his/her bedside to offer their assistance,” explains Joseph Ferrera, Chief Operating Officer, Saint Barnabas Management Services, who oversees the Link Call Center.

Through this service, follow-up appointments with physicians or new specialist visits can be scheduled; and appointments for laboratory or outpatient services can also be scheduled. “In addition, our staff will place reminder calls to all the patients and mail out confirmation letters outlining dates, times and locations of scheduled appointments, and they will also make sure that each patient is satisfied with the care provided and ensure that all health care needs are met,” he stated.

TD Bank is dedicated to making a positive impact on the communities it serves. Over the years, millions of dollars in financial and in-kind assistance has been provided to non-profit organizations. The TD Charitable Foundation’s mission is to serve the individuals, families and businesses in all the communities where TD Bank operates, having made over $51 million in charitable donations since its inception in 2002. The efforts of the Foundation are coordinated locally through TD Bank’s community relations departments and are focused on the areas of affordable housing, education and financial literacy, and the environment.

“We are extremely grateful to the TD Charitable Foundation for giving Kimball Medical Center the funding in support of our Inpatient Concierge Program,” said Caryl Russo, Vice President, Development for Kimball Medical Center Foundation. “Through this donation, Kimball Medical Center can continue to provide comprehensive health care assistance to the patients following discharge from the hospital,” she adds.

The Kimball Medical Center Foundation was created to support Kimball Medical Center and the programs and services it provides. A variety of fundraising events held throughout the year, as well as contributions from individuals, corporations, and other donors help the Foundation fund facility improvements, and also help fund new programs and services and purchase state-of-the-art equipment. The Foundation enjoys the support of thousands of friends, especially the members of the Kimball Medical Center Auxiliary Association, whom not only raise funds for the hospital, but also serve as “ambassadors” in the community.
