Suspected Cop Killer Jahmell Crockham Indicted

crockham court tls picA grand jury in Ocean County today indicted Jahmell Crockham in the shooting death of a Lakewood police officer Chris Matlosz. Crockam is charged with shooting Officer Christopher Matlosz after the officer pulled his police cruiser alongside the 19-year-old. The grand jury indicted Crockam on charges of murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and also unlawful possession of a weapon.

According to the Associated Press, the indictment alleges two aggravating factors that could result in Crockam being sentenced to life in prison without parole: that the murder was committed to avoid beingĀ apprehended, and the victim was a public servant carrying out official duties at the time of his killing.

Crockam is being held on $5 million bail. No trial date has been set.

  1. thats a rude comment #2. the part about the firing squad. Firing squads have been used in the past by various governments… can you recall which….

  2. ok why cant he get the death penalty under some federal law for assasinating a law officer. why is he diffrent than a terrorist. he terrorized the lakewood community.

  3. i doubt he could get out on 5 million bail. at least i hope not cause this animal belongs in jail for what he did. i don’t think he’ll get out. sounds like he’s gonna have a good chance of going to jail after being indicted.

  4. I agree with #2 – firing squad would be better, absolutely NO reason to assasinate a Police Officer.

#6 – they know he did it because there was a witness’

#7 – NJ no longer has a death penalty, but I feel they should reinstate it

I hope he gets what he deserves, the same brutality with with he murdered Chris.

Chris, you gave your life protecting the poeple of LAkewodd. WE WILL NEVER FORGET YOU. RIP 317

  5. its amazing that such a peice of trash will be left in prison on the taxpayers dollar. but until we wake up and DEMAND that nj reinstate a death penalty, he , and i really hate to say it, has rights under the law and the right to a fair trial from the constitution.

  6. Convict him then make a deal with Florida to send him here and put him at the front of the line for the death penalty. Yes we still have it!

  7. Even if you pass a death penalty law today, with his name on it, it doesn’t apply to him, he did the crime before the law and we don’t retro a law to get a special person. Sometimes it’s not fair.

  8. #11 – it seems that you would like the opportunity to kill this guy , and who can blame you. But why would you be willing to lose five million dollars just to have that opportunity. let him rot in jail.

  9. This parasite makes me SICK….. He should be exterminated like we do with any unwanted insects. He should not have the luxury of life in jail, so he can read, play sports, watch TV, lift weights, eat 3 square meals a day, is housed and dressed, by who?
Us the taxpayers!!!! Let’s have him free for one day, so we all can take a shot at him. I would gladly be the first one and would be proud. But let’s not kill him instantly, let him feel the pain and torture him. Just like his fiancee is and his family is feeling their pain and grief.
So to the people that think life in jail is good enough, bet you wouldn’t think that way if it was your member of your family.
