VIDEO: A man suspected of burglarizing vehicles was arrested this evening with the assistance of LCSW. At about 10:15 PM, a resident witnessed a man shuffling through a vehicle on East 7th Street, and phoned LCSW.
Multiple LCSW units responded to the area and based on the description were able to immediately locate the man as he walked away from the scene.
Police were called in while the LCSW members kept an eye on the suspect from a distance.
Several officers arrived moments later and questioned the suspect, while another officer collected information from the witness.
After the suspect was positively identified by the witness, he was arrested. He is being charged with burglary.
Police are also looking to see if car burglaries which occurred several blocks away, are connected.
CIU was called in to investigate.

what ever happened to calling the police when you see a crime. Every second counts and by calling LCSW first ,just delays the police responce.

I don’t get you people ” why call Lcsw” I bet if you asked the guy who had his property returned because Lcsw got the guy he would say thank you Lcsw for responding so promptly and working so closely with Lpd to resolve my problem, at the end of the day the guy was caught and property was returned Lcsw did it the right way they spotted followed and made sure pd apprehended, good job

Listen up!!! LCSW does a good job but they are not the POLICE. If someone was getting beat up would you call LCSW? You call the police first and then you call LCSW, and in most cases you will get a faster response from the PD if you call them directly instead of using 911, because 911 has to go throught the County and then they give it to the PD so all of that takes time. 363-0200 and then 0

ok here is a serious question . the lcsw were called and responded rapidly. from what i hear from a lpd officer breaking multiple traffic laws . what happens when lcsw in their hurry to respond to a call kill someone on the road.? it is going to happen . they respond like they are emergency vehicles !!!! we need to address this. i think the lcsw is great and deff has a purpose but they should not respond like a emergency vehicles ,, any comments ? i am open to ideas . looking to protect lcsw and the people

You know it upsets me the way Lakewood treats it’s shomrim every city that has a shomrim supports there organization it’s only in this town that people seem to put them down making them seem there “” powerless “” well they seemed to have proven they could work safely and productivly they aren’t out there tackling people they spot they follow they work with the police for lakewoods benefit,, personally I don’t think this town deserves to have an Lcsw, maybe you should just settle with making police reports and not having an edge in keeping this town safe , it’s 2012 things are beyond just the police dept like it or not there’s real need for Lcsw , maybe find ways in helping them do there service witch they do for free , Lakewood is silly
Being that I am an Officer that was there last night the LCSW was helpful. Did the complainant call them first?? Maybe there was a short delay in response by the PD. Either way we worked together to get this guy behind bars. Can we stop the negativity.
I agree with # 29 can we just , he was there and they seemed to work well together it’s the negativity that slows the process
