The suspect who eluded an arrest and fled from Troopers in Lakewood this week, was recaptured, Jeffrey Flynn from the New Jersey State Police confirms to TLS.
Olajuwon M. Brown, 22, escaped from police while they attempted to arrest him on warrants. His run from the Troopers prompted a massive search involving Lakewood Police, K9 and others, as first reported by TLS.
He was eventually recaptured late Wednesday night on Yale Drive in Lakewood, with the cooperative efforts of the NJSP, Fugitive Task Force, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and local departments.
During his recapture, the suspect again resisted arrest and attempted to flee, but was apprehended, Flynn says. A defaced weapon was recovered during the arrest.
The suspect was charged with drug trafficking, possession of a defaced handgun, eluding and resisting arrest among other charges.
He was lodged in Ocean County Jail on $425,000 full cash bail.

Much gratitude to all agencies. Amazing job. We gotta keep these thugs off the street!
Im sure the NJSP got more than they want to comment on for this fine resident..of Ocean County
TY!
And I’m glad !!!!! He deserves to be in jail
This article goes from one sentence saying “recaptured” to the very next sentence saying he escaped them as they tried to arrest him…? The phrase “recapture” connotates that he was once “captured” i.e. arrested, escaped, then recaptured….Just saying. Sort of confusing.
