1. Why didn’t the Fire truck stop to check on the occupants.

   • Fire Engine is already en route to another call and there isn’t much they can do. They are Fire Fighters, not EMS, and do not have the equipment to deal with the incident. The accident was relayed to dispatch while they continued on to the call where they are needed.

     • While it does seem the Fire truck is en route to another call, Fire fighters are actually the first to respond to accidents in most cases. They are the one’s trained in using the “jaws of life,” dealing with entrapments, learning about the electrical systems of vehicles to safely disable them.. etc etc.. EMS just deals with the injuries and transportation once the victim has been safely removed from the crash.

       • Sorry to tell you chipperchicken, not in Lakewood, it has always been the Lakewood First Aid that handled extraction.

4. look at the video again, the fire truck has its lights on which means it’s heading to an emergency already, I’m sure he radioed in for other units to come to the accident scene

5. My mom was in the front car she was ok the woman who was hit her got her car totaled but I think she’s alright

6. I believe that if he causes an accident he is required by law to stop even if he’s on the way to an emergency.

   • I don’t think he caused the accident, if you look at the traffic light, it turned yellow and then red and the car wanted to get through the light.

7. this goes on all day everywhere Its due to the impatience of the drives they so nuts if they will miss the light

8. When the light changes to yellow you’re supposed to try to stop. The car that caused the accident should have slowed down.
