Sudden Petirah of Harav Gershon Weiss Z”L [UPDATED]

We regret to inform you of the sudden Petirah of Harav Gershon Weiss Z”L of Lakewood.
Rav Gershon Z”L was born in 1933, and went through the war.

After the war, he served as Menahel at Ner Yisroel Baltimore for approximately 18 years, after which he served as Menahel Ruchni in Staten Island for approximately 50 years. He then served as Rav in Lakewood’s Ateres Binyomin.

His sons and sons-in-law are:

Rav Weiss influence went well beyond Lakewood. He was a survivor, who knew G-d, even in the midst of destruction. His books are masterpieces Meant for those of us Jews (and non Jews) to better connect to G-d.. I am deeply saddened by his passing. I barely knew the man but loved him so. G-d Bless. BDE! This is very sad news! I’ve heard many amazing things about Rav Gershon Weiss. His son is the assistant principal at my son’s Yeshivah and is an unbelievable person and so soft spoken! May his family be comforted!
