Sudden Passing of Lakewood Planning Board Member David Garfield Z”L

We regret to inform you of the sudden passing of David Garfield Z”L.

David was a current member of the Board, having been appointed in 2017. He was approximately 80 years old.

“David was a gentle man with a great smile and kind heart,” said fellow Planning Board member Justin Flancbaum. “We’ll miss him.”

Board member Eli Rennert says David was a special man.

“He was a very special person who always had a smile and cheerful hello,” said Eli. “The entire board always looked forward to hear his perspective.”

Moshe Raitzik added, “Mr. Garfield was a beloved and respected member of the Planning Board. His genteel manner and kind words will be sorely missed.”

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:30am, at the Floral Park Cemetery, located at 104 Deans Rhode Hall Road, Monmouth Junction, NJ 08852. Shiva will follow at his home at 41 Rosewood Drive in Lakewood.

  1. What a mentch. Always had the interest of Lakewood residents on his mind. I hope his replacement on the board will strive to live up to his reputation.
