it is completely legit. Government website. I have gotten hundreds of dollars for people who did not even dream that they had unclaimed property.

Sometimes it is a rebate from insurance, that you missed the check in the mail, but could be other things. I personally got back a couple hundred dollars.

Any large company or corporation that owes you money for any reason. They have to report it (they can’t just keep it). You can get anything from $1-$100000! You never know. Takes seconds to claim. Hope it’s good!

Can be from a dormant bank account, a tax refund you never claimes, insurance monies you overpaid, deposits never returned to you…
Basically banks and companies who owe folks money for a long time and dont know how to get it to you must hand it over to the state who holds it until you claim it. Sadly, lots of rhis money is never claimed.

A few years ago, I got a letter from some group claiming they can help me claim some assets in NJ(I moved out of Lakewood 25 years ago). I checked out this site and found that I had 3 checks from insurance claims. The total was several Hundred dollars.

This feels like a scam but is totally legit. Every state has the laws a bit different but they basically require companies to send the money to them from things like uncashed payroll checks checks/insurance refunds etc

I noticed yesterday a deceased family member had 2 unclaimed properties. It was over 3k! Thank you for posting

NY Man Moves to Lakewood After Reading TLS Headline That Says ‘Free Money Is Waiting For Many In Lakewood Area’
A longtime New York resident packed all his belongings today and moved to Lakewood, NJ after reading a TLS headline that says “free money is waiting for many in the Lakewood area.”
“I haven’t even found an apartment yet,” the former NY resident told reporters today several hours after he arrived in Lakewood, “but when there’s free money waiting for me, I really don’t have time to worry about an apartment.”
Ironically, the Lakewood newcomer told reporters that despite several hours of searching through the streets and alleyways of Lakewood, he has yet to locate the free pile of cash that is supposed to be waiting for him.
“I’ve combed every street in Lakewood, and I have yet to find the free money,” he said with a deep sigh. “I just hope this isn’t some kind of belated Purim prank.”
“Who knows, maybe the money is supposed to be waiting for me on my doorstep,” he said, “problem is I don’t have a doorstep yet because I just moved to Lakewood today! Hmm, maybe someone can rent me a doorstep for a few days.”
“They say money doesn’t grow on trees,” he said, “so I’m not even going to bother searching through the trees.”
“Hmm, if I don’t find my free pile of cash soon,” he said, “I’m going back to NY because I have a scary feeling that someone stole my free money shortly before I arrived here.”
